The Basildon Labour Party has called on the Conservative run Essex County Council to increase investment in our roads and pavements. For too long our roads and pavements have caused problems for drivers and pedestrians. To many roads across the borough are suffering from potholes whilst pavements are frequently unstable putting our residents at risk. The Conservatives at Essex County Council have continued with the e-scooter trial across Basildon, a move that Labour Councillors opposed following consultation with residents who highlighted concerns around anti-social behaviour and dangerous riding. A vote for Labour in the elections in May will send a clear message to the Conservatives at Essex County Council to stop ignoring us and to invest in Basildon’s roads and pavements.
